Lion Pride
The Athletics Department of the Miami Valley Christian Academy provides a championship quality program committed to offering each student a full range of athletic opportunities while enrolled. Like their namesake, the MVCA Lions are fierce competitors, exhibiting superior athleticism while adhering to the moral code of good sportsmanship. To be a MVCA Lion is to be part of a rich tradition of top-tier athletes who have achieved great success both on and off the playing field. MVCA looks forward to adding to the winning tradition of the MVCA Lions by helping students develop their athletic abilities.
All students are encouraged to be actively involved in the athletic program throughout the year. The small size of the school provides an excellent environment for student athletes who otherwise may not be able to participate in larger schools.

We challenge every athlete to give their very best in practice, in games, and in life.

Sports at MVCA emphasize humility, integrity, and respect for others.

Athletes learn how to lead and serve, both on and off the field.

We pursue victory with humility, remembering that character lasts longer than the scoreboard.

ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Athletics at the elementary level are about learning the fundamentals of teamwork, movement, and sportsmanship. Students participate in PE classes, fun competitions, and intramural activities that give them a taste of what it means to be a Lion athlete. Our goal is to help children develop a love for physical activity while grounding them in Christlike attitudes and respect for others.

Paige McElfresh
Upper School Athletic Director
I have the privilege of serving as the Upper School Athletic Director at Miami Valley Christian Academy, where athletics is an extension of our mission to educate the whole student, mind, body, and spirit. It is a true blessing to step into this role and invest in the lives of our student-athletes, helping them discover how their gifts can be used to glorify God.
I believe sports are a powerful platform to glorify God, build community, and develop unshakable strength and character in our students. My philosophy is simple: athletics is about more than competition, it’s about transformation. Every practice and game is an opportunity for athletes to grow in discipline, perseverance, teamwork, and humility, while also deepening their faith and witness for Christ.
Like the lion, our school mascot, we want our athletes to demonstrate courage, strength, and steadfastness. Proverbs 28:1 reminds us that “the righteous are as bold as a lion.” That boldness, rooted in Christ, is what we pray marks every MVCA athlete on and off the field.
I am excited to see how God is expanding opportunities through our growing athletic programs, allowing more students than ever to compete with excellence and purpose. It is truly a joy and privilege to walk alongside our Lions as they compete with courage, strength, and boldness in Christ, representing MVCA with pride and honoring Him in everything they do.
