Music

Elementary Band

5th grade attends band 3 times a week, they focus on learning a new instrument, reading music, and beginning to play as an ensemble.

Middle School Band

6th-8th grade meets as a class daily, dives deeper into music learning articulations, dynamics, and how to blend their sound as an ensemble.

High School Band

An advanced course that allows students to play concert, jazz, and pep band music. In addition to learning more about articulations, dynamics, and blend and balance; they explore more complicated music theory concepts within the music they are playing.

Lower School Music Classes

K-5th graders enjoy weekly classes learning fundamental musical concepts through a variety of methods.

4th & 5th Grade Choirs

Students learn the fundamentals of singing in a choir while building relationships. They use warm-up exercises and sheet music to learn the basics of reading music.

Middle School and High School Choirs

Middle school and High school choirs provide a unique opportunity for students to express themselves through singing while being constantly involved in performance, aural and visual analysis or constructive criticism of self and peers.

Annual Competition

Each year the band and choir participate in an adjudicated event/trip, allowing students the opportunity to receive judge feedback and rating. In recent years, our groups have traveled to Chicago, Cleveland, and Hershey!
